C -- RENOVATE WARD 4D SOL Sol 644-14-98 DUE 122697 POC Kathy Bernal (602) 222 6404 Provide A/E Services for Project 644-306 Renovate Ward 4D at the VA Medical Center, Phoenix AZ. A/E will provide Contract Drawings and Specification, Construction Cost Estimate, Engineering Calculation and subsequent Construction Period Services. Services will include complete deesign of an approx 10,000 square feet that currently consists of two and four bed patient rooms with congregate bathing into a 20 bed patient ward that will have private and semi-private bed rooms with private or shared toilets and bathing facilities. Demolition of the area to accept new private and semi-private rooms with bathing facilities will require considerable amounts of architectural and plumbing changes, HVAC, fire sprinkler, electrical and medical gas modifications, the removal and replacement of asbestos floor tile with non-asbestos flooring and new finishes throughout the area. The A/E shall engage the IH firm that has the current open ended I.H. contract with the Phoenix VAMC. This I.H. shall consult with the VAMC to edit specifications and notate the contract drawings to prescribe abatement of all existing asbesos containing material for the project. This IH firm will also perform the duties of the VPIH during construction. Construction cost estimate is $1,000,000 to $2,000,000. This is not a request for proposal.
