The period of performance is expected to be a base period of twelve months beginning October 1, 1997 with four (4) twelve month option periods. There are 5 classes of coverage: Class 1 -- 24hour/7day with response within 2 hours after notification, Class 2 -24 hour/7day with response within 4 hours after notification, Class 3 -- 8 hour/5day with response within 4 hours after notification, Class 4 depot maintenance support with "next day" delivery of replacement components and 24hour/7 day technical support via remote diagnostics and software updates on the systems operating software, Class 5 -- depot maintenance support with delivery of replacement components within 5 working days. For Class 1 and 2 service, the contractor shall locally maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and diagnostic instruments for properly and efficiently maintaining the equipment for the life of the contract.
