(703)602-3102 The Naval Sea Systems Command seeks information from
manufacturers and dealers of commercial boats, off the shelf and
currently in service, for potential future procurements. Companies on
the Federal Supply Schedule with boats meeting the characteristics
below are encouraged to respond. The boat's hull can be made of fiber
reinforce plastic, aluminum or steel. The length of the boat must be
between 7 and 10 meters (23ft-33ft). There is no specific beam
requirement except that the beam must suit the speed and provide good
seakeeping performance. The propulsion system can be a diesel inboard
engine with an outdrive or a waterjet, a gasoline inboard engine with
an outdrive or a waterjet, or gasoline outboard engines. The boat must
have hydraulic steering. The boat must have a 12 or 24 volt electrical
system. The boat must have a minimum payload of 500 lbs. The boat must
be capable of a speeds (with full fuel and payload in three foot
waves) in excess of 40 knots. The boat must have a range in calm
waterat 80% of maximum rated engine RPM, with full fuel and payload, of
200 nautical miles(nm). The boats must be transportable over land on a
trailer. The boat must have lifting fittings for removal of the boat
from water by a crane. Cost of the complete boat must be less than $80K
(FOB Origin). Delivery for craft is no later than six months after
order. The response to this request may be in any form or format,
including the company's standard literature, provided that it shows
that the craft identified meets or exceeds the above characteristics.
The price, warranty terms, and delivery schedule of the craft must also
be provided. The information sent will not be returned, nor will
compensation be provided for any response to this announcement.
