COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF NOVEMBER 21,1997 PSA#1977Defense Special Weapons Agency, 6801 Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA
22310-3398 A -- MODIFICATION, DSWA CONTRACT DNA001-96-G-0061-0001, BASIC ORDERING
AGREEMENT FOR ARMS CONTROL AND VERIFICATION TECHNOLOGY, RDT&E POC David
Staudt, Negotiator, (703) 325-9210, Edward L. Archer, Contracting
Officer, (703) 325-5028 This effort is part of Basic Ordering Agreement
DNA001-96-G-0061 with DynMeridian. The Defense Special Weapons Agency
(DSWA) intends to modify existing Task Order 0001 to extend the period
of performance for certain tasks by 12 months. This Task Order was
awarded to perform an "Anti-Personnel Landmine (APL) Technology
Assessment and Negotiation Support for the Convention on Conventional
Weapons (CCW) and APL Control Program." The total cost man-year
estimate for this modification is 2.4. DSWA plans to award a Task Order
modification to DynMeridian under Basic Ordering Agreement
DNA001-96-G-0061 that will allow DSWA to provide continued,
uninterrupted, and ongoing support to the Office of Secretary of
Defense. This modification will allow DSWA to support continued
national interest in and negotiation support demands for the APL Ban
that the US will continue to pursue in the Conference on Disarmament.
DSWA considers the support time-sensitive, by proving support to US
delegations to on-going and anticipated arms control discussions and is
necessary for the informed deliberations of senior policy planners in
both diplomatic and military communities concerning near-term
contingencies and initiatives. DSWA believes that DynMeridian is the
only source that possess the existing expertise to adapt this specific
requirement to meet this program requirement within the time required
by DSWA and available funding. Any other firm desiring consideration
must fully identify its capability to perform this requirement. See
Note 22. POC is David J. Staudt at (703) 325-9210. Information on DSWA
solicitations, already released, can be obtained by calling the DSWA
Hotline at (703) 325-1173. As of 31 May 96, Acquisition Management has
added "Procurement Opportunities" to the DSWA Home Page available on
the World Wide Web. Information will include this synopsis and more.
