intends to procure the following requirement as a sole source
acquisition from Terametrix Systems International Inc., 8560 E. 22nd
St, Ste 201, Tucson AZ 85710: 1 each PorTS Series 660 Rackmountable
CAIS-Compatible Ground Station Unit which includes P5/200 MHz Pentium
Processor, (1) ea 4.0 GB Ultra SCSI hard drive, 3.5" floppy, CD-ROM
drive, 64MB RAM, internal TFT flat panel color monitor, 600 watt AC/DC
power supply, (2) RS-232 serial interface ports, (1) parallel printer
port, external audio output, rackmount tray with keyboard and
integrated mouse. Also, (1) ea. SBS9100 Single Board telemetry systems
with Bit Synchronizer, Decommuntator, and Time Code Reader components,
(1) ea. 9135 16-channel DAC with VP-100 CVSD Voice Reproduction
component, (1) ea. EUP/101 Engineering Unit Processor card, (1) ea
EXC1553 PC/EP 1553 card, (1) ea. E/Net 10-base-2 Ethernet card, (1) ea.
SDLC-800 Serial Communication Card, (1) ea. RS-422 I/O card,
Quad-stream Internal LED indicator panel (single stream enabled for
this application), DB32/GRAFIX software v7.0 with users manual, CYBER
Data GrafiX (when full release is available), DOS, Windows 95 and
manual, and polyethylene shipping case. Terametrix was selected as the
source for this procurement because Terametrix developed and
manufactured the proprietary system and has been cleared access to the
proprietary data. These items are required by the Instrumentation's
Division laboratory for supporting the Engineering and Manufacturing
Development (EMD) test phase of the F-22 program at Edwards Air Force
Base and ensure compatibility with previously purchased F-22 specific
airborne instrumentation and ground support equipment. No RFQ will be
prepared or made available for distribution. This award will be issued
on the basis of other than full and open competition, in accordance
with FAR Part 6.302-1 as stated requirements can only be satisfied by
the manufacturer of these items. The solicitation is anticipated to be
issued o/a 5 December 1997. Facsimile responses are acceptable and
must be received on or before the COB on the closing date stated above.
