A -- SALE OR LICENSE OF 16 CHARFUEL PATENTS (COAL GASIFICATION) SOL RFP 216170 DUE 120297 POC Carolyn Perry, Procurement-Services Contracts, fax (423) 751-4948; e-mail cperry@tva.gov The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) intends to license or sell 16 U.S. patents covering the Charfuel coal refining process for producing char, oils, char slurries, and gases. The Charfuel process could be integrated into a coal gasification/chemical coproduction facility to produce solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels, electrical power, and chemical feedstocks. A list of the patents will be provided on request. TVA will retain, as a condition of the sale or license, a non-exclusive license to practice the Charfuel technology for its own purposes within its service area. TVA's Environmental Research and Services staff will be available on a fee basis for engineering support. TVA intends to solicit proposals from a list of interested parties responding to this notice. A minimum offer of $150,000 (One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars) cash will be required to purchase or license the technology. TVA intends to issue solicitations about December 2, 1997.
