COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF NOVEMBER 21,1997 PSA#1977INDUSTRY BRIEFING FOR CONTRACTUAL SUPPORT FOR THE GLOBAL POSITIONING
SYSTEM (GPS) RANGE APPLICATION PROGRAM (RAP) The Naval Air Warfare
Center Weapons Division (NAWCWPNS), China Lake, California plans to
hold an Industry Briefing on 9 December 1997 from 0900-1600 at the Los
Angeles Air Force Base, Los Angeles, California, for an upcoming
contract requirement. The contractual support to be provided will be
for the GPS RAP Test and Evaluation (T&E) ranges, training ranges and
authorized foreign military T&E/training ranges. The Tri-Service and
foreign test and training ranges utilize a variety of GPS
Instrumentation Systems (GPSIS) for support of daily operations. This
includes survey equipment, vehicle tracking, timing equipment,
precision Time-Space-position Information (TSPI) systems, the Advanced
Range Data System (ARDS) GPS system and a variety of other GPS
instrumentation from Commercial Off-the-Shelf to fully military capable
GPS equipment. The support to be procured under this acquisition will
be for all GPSIS utilized on each range. The support to be provided
shall include on-site and in-plant diagnosis, repair and engineering
support services, technology insertion, software support, training,
configuration management and equipment/parts procurement. The
anticipated contract type will be time and material (T&M), indefinite
delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) using best value source selection.
The anticipated contract award will be 30 June 1998. The purpose of the
briefing is to inform prospective contractors of the Government's
requirements. Attendance at the briefing will be limited to two
representatives from each responding company. The briefing will be
