Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1542, General Contractors --
Non- residential Buildings other than Industrial Buildings and
Warehouses. The work includes the repair and rehabilitation of Wing 2,
a portion of Wing 3 (NFCU/SATO), a position of Wing 4 (Baquet Rooms),
and a portion of Red Beach adjacent to Wings 2 and 4 at Bancroft Hall.
The work includes removal of hazardous materials, interior demolition
including mechanical and electrical systems, removal of existing
aluminum windows and fiberglass spandrel panels, removal of existing
slate and copper roofs; and removal of existing terrace deck
paving/waterproofing system; new work includes interior partitions and
finishes, dormitory casework, ceilings, windows, exterior stone
cleaning and repair, slate and copper roofs, mechanical and electrical
systems and equipment, restructuring/repaving work, and incidental
related work. Competitive negotiation procedures will apply. Contractor
will be required to submit technical and cost proposals. The following
technical criteria will be required: (1) Relevant Experience/Past
Performance; (2) Work Plan; (3) Project Staffing; and (4) Specialized
Work. A non-refundable charge of $378.00 per solicitation package is
required and checks should be made out to "US Treasurer" and either
submit in writing or pick up at the DEFENSE PRINTING SERVICE DETACHMENT
OFFICE, ATTN: KEVIN GABEL, 901 M STREET, S.E., BUILDING 143-1,
WASHINTON NAVY YARD, WASHINGTON, DC 20374-5030. Request for Bidders
list must be made separately and will be mailed. Please note that plans
and specs will be issued on a "first come, first serve" basis until
supplies are exhausted. The estimated date for issuance of plans and
specs is 25 November 1997. Site visit information will be contained in
the solicitation. The estimated date for receipt of proposals is 13
January 1998. The estimated cost of construction is over
