The Naval Air Systems Command intends to place an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-95-G-0208 with Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Commpany (LASC) for completion of the developmental phase and initial production and installation of kits for the S-3B Communications Improvement Program (CIP). This effort includes the final phase of the integration of the DAMA SATCOM communications systems into the S-3B aircraft, trial kit installation and vertification, update of technical and software publications and production and installation of the first 24 aircraft kits. As the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the S-3B aircraft and the developer of the initial CIP developmental phase, LASC is the only source that possesses the necessary technical expertise, engineering drawings and data to perform the total weapons systems integration effort.
