(SURA) has a prime contract with the United States Government represented by the Department of Energy (DOE) for managing and operating the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab) in Newport News, Virginia. Jefferson Lab plans to issue a competitive solicitation for providing handtools and various hardware on a per call basis. A subcontract will be let for a basic year and four option years. The estimated date for release of the solicitation is January 6, 1998 with proposals due on or about February 5, 1998. The subcontract will be considered a Just In Time subcontract for Industrial and Commerical Equipment and Supplies. The subcontract shall feature Internet electronic ordering (Secure Web site) direct to a vendor supplied web site. The web site shall have abilities to accept a blanket purchase order, various users, and cost centers. Vendors are expected to have a catalog or catalogs that contain(s) approximately 200,000line items of hardware, hand tools, cutting tools, industrial safety, material handling and other industrial and commercial equipment and supplies. The successful Vendor shall have all catalog(s) loaded on the web site to where the cusotmer can place orders. Jefferson Lab expects delivery of the supplies/equipment within 24 hours after the order is placed. Interested firms should indicate whether they are small business, small disadvantaged businesses and or woman owned businesses. If adequate interest from qualified small or small disadvantaged business concerns is received, consideration will be given to setting the solicitiation aside for small business and/or small disadvantaged business. To be considered a small business concern for this procurement, a company and its affiliates must not have had annual average gross revenues for the last three fiscal years that exceed $17M.
