Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, FL
plans to award a purchase order for design, fabrication, and on-site
engineering/installation of instrumentation to determine torsional
oscillations and shaft power (torque) of six shafts in the Landing
Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) Vehicles. Measurements will require radio
telemetry technology/design expertise and must be accomplished remotely
with shafts in place during various LCAC Operational scenarios.
Drivetrains vary in dia from 5 to 8 inches and shafts will be turning
at speeds of up to 6,000 RPM and will be subjected to torques of up to
