99 -- TOOL SETS SOL M67854-98-R-2023 DUE 120597 POC Vicki Whiteman, Phone 703-784-5822 ext 256, FAX 703-784-5826 Marine Corps Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract to Kent Moore Heavy Duty Group, SPX Corporation of Roseville, Michigan for tool sets for repair and rebuild of Allison Automatic Transmissions (used in Marine Corps tactical vehicles). Vendors who feel that they can provide this product should submit a capability statement that demonstrates a bona fide ability to meet the Government's requirements and illustrates it is advantageous to consider other sources. All responses should reference this document. The Marine Corps expects the contractor to assemble special tools and instruments into a tool set, package tool sets into a metal box/container and ship to the Marine Corps. These tool sets already exist in the Marine Corps inventory under an established NSN. Kent Moore is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and owns the proprietary drawings for the tools, instruments and test equipment for the Allison Transmission manufacturer and is the only known manufacturer of these items. No RFP is available for competitive bidding; however, interested parties are encouraged to submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement within 15 days of this announcement to the Contact Person listed above.
