intends to award two Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Task Order
arrangement contracts to support the Government's requirements for
communication systems support. The contracts will be a
Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee, Cost-Plus-Award-Fee arrangement. Details will be
provided in the solicitation. Support shall include, but is not limited
to, the definition, planning, development, rapid prototyping, and
execution of Department of Defense (DoD) space/missile defense mission
areas related to all aspects of space communications. The SIC Code is
8711 and the Small Business size standard is $20.0 million. An
Industry/Pre-solicitation conference is planned prior to release of the
formal solicitation. Multiple awards (2) with identical scopes of work
and estimated hours are contemplated. First consideration will be
given to a Small Business set-aside, with the second award to be the
result of full and open competition. The base period will be 01 OCT 98
through 30 SEP 99 with four one-year options. Downloading from the
ARSPACE Internet site, http://ww.armyspace.com is anticipated to be the
primary method of disseminating the solicitation. Hard copies of the
solicitation will be offered only on an exception basis to those who do
not have access to the Internet. No telephone requests for this package
will be accepted. Offerors are encouraged to immediately "register"
with this office pending completion of this website. E-mail or faxed
requests received directly from the requester are acceptable.

historical information and frequently asked questions will also be
available on the website shown above, as they become available. As
such, potential offerors are encouraged to check the website
frequently. The formal solicitation will be released on or about
February 18, 1998. All responsible sources may submit an offer which
