Belcher, (205) 933-4492, fax (205) 933-4489 The DVAMC, Birmingham, AL, requires the services of an A/E for the project entitled "Coordinate Primary Care & Mental Health". The following services are required: 1. The A/E shall provide technical service for the development of design development documents (DDD) through construction documents (CD) for the project. DDD's typically include preliminary plans through 35% working drawings, including schematics and cost estimates. CD's typically include the production of construction drawings, specifications, detailed cost estimates, and other pertinent documents. The intent of the project is to renovate and/or upgrade the Admissions area, Emergency Room and Urgent Care Clinic, which are all located on the first floor. Also, included is the intent to renovate space on the sixth floor of the Meidcal Center for a four bed Mental Health Observation Unit. Work may include, but is not limited to architectural, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. Asbestos abatement may be required on the sixth floor. 2. The A/E shall prepare all documents for this project from interaction and planning with the VAMC Engineering Service, Acquisition & Materiel Management Service, and other Medical Center staff. The A/E shall meet with the VAMC staff as required to accomplish the task described in the scope of work. The A/E shall make site surveys, verify as-built drawings, analyze existing utility systems as necessary, and complete any and all work necessary to furnish a complete design in accordance with VA Handbook H-08-15, Volume C, "Minimum Requirements for A/E Submissions" for Minor and Minor Miscellaneous projects and scope of the referenced project. The construction cost for this project is estimated between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. The area of consideration is restricted to within a 200-mile radius of the DVAMC, Birmingham, AL.
