Thomas or David E. Ulmer, spthomas@tva.gov or deulmer@tva.gov. Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) plans to excavate and backfill three sites along the left abutment and spillway of Fontana Dam. Excavation of these areas is necessary in order to gain access for slot cutting to manage concrete growth. Excavation areas could reach a depth of approximately 60 ft. and a width of 40 ft. Alternative proposals for gaining access to the areas for slot cutting will be considered. Excavation work is tentatively scheduled to take place in July and August 1998 with slot cutting scheduled for the Winter of 1998. Detailed specifications will be available in late December 1997, with an onsite meeting scheduled for January 16, 1998. All interested parties must be present for the onsite meeting or they will not be considered. (0324)
