The National Science Foundation (NSF) has a requirement for printing, binding and delivery services for the Science and Engineering Indicators 1998 ("Indicators") book. This book is considered to be a premiere publication of the NSF and requires high quality printing services. Services will include output stripping, proofing, printing, perfect binding, packing and delivery of Indicators to various addresses in the Washington, DC area. The book will be a minimum of 700 pages and the print run will be to film 25,000 copies. The contractor will be required to print the text (text prints black and one PMS color, 2/2 throughout), print the covers (covers, I IV & Spine, print 4 colors, CMYK with gloss varnish); CII and CIII will print 1 color or be blank. The contractor will be supplied disks for the job. There is a short turn-around time (14 working days) to complete this job. It is preferred that interested contractors be located within 100 kilometer (62) mile radius of NSF Headquarters located at 4201Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia. Any bidder intending to use production facilities outside this area will be required to furnish information, with their bid, which will on its face, demonstrate the ability to meet the schedule requirements. The contractor must be able to make last minute adjustments and be able to do pick-up and deliveries from the NSF on very short notices during production.
