This procurement is unrestricted. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number N00164-98-Q-0038 is issued as a Request for Quotation. Solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-11. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this procurement is 3825. The size standard is 500 employees. This requirement is for the repair of 10 each Kevlin Corporation Rotary Joints Part Number 1085AS750, serial numbers 151, 161, 173, 176, 178, 104, 117, 146, 155 and 159. The Government will negotiate with one company, Kevlin Corporation, 5 Cornell Place, Wilmington, MA. Only Kevlin owns the test equipment, production drawings and test procedures necessary to perform the required repairs. This will be negotiated at a firm fixed price contract and will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The shipping terms will be negotiated, F.O.B. destination, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane IN, with inspection/acceptance at destination. A Certification of Compliance is required in leu of Source Inspection. The required delivery date is 28 weeks after contract award.
