Federer, Contracting Officer, (404) 842-6789 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates sole source negotiations with the Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine (Beijing, China) to intensify human influenza surveillance currently being performed in selected sites throughout China. Increased surveillance is due to recent isolation of influenza A (H5N1) in Hong Kong. Period of performance will be for the 1997-1998 Influenza Season only. Incumbent contractor is the only organization known to be authorized by the Chinese Government to perform this work. Dollar value of the contemplated contract modification is under $25,000.
