Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, demolition, excavation and site preparation and furnish all labor, supervision, and materials for the construction of a masonry/reinforced concrete structure for existing cooling towers, emergency generator exhaust grills, and chillers against wind and wind borne debris during a hurricane status at the VA Medical Center, West Palm Beach, Florida. The project addresses protection of existing mechanical equipment at the VA Medical Center from wind and wind borne debris. All work will be in accordance with specifications and drawings. SIC: 1741. A pre-bid conference and site visit will be scheduled and all bidders will be notified of the schedule in advance. COMPLETION TIME: 120 days. COST RANGE: $250,000 -- $500,000. Solicitations will be issued on or about December 12, 1997. Bid opening date is January 16, 1998, 3:00 PM, EST.
