STEP ONE, All interested contractors shall submit a written request to the FAA for a copy of the Technical Evaluation Questionnaire (TEQ) by December 4, 1997. The FAA Will send out a copy of the TEQ to those contractors on December 5, 1997. Offerors shall complete the TEQ and submit to the FAA, Central Region by December 12, 1997, 3:00 PM local time. STEP TWO, The FAA will evaluate the TEQs, determine a "short list" of the technically acceptable contractors, and issue these contractors a copy of the solicitation (approx December 19, 1997) upon receipt of NONREFUNDABLE plan set charge of $50. Solicitation will be due Approx. 21 calendar days from and including the issue date. Award shall be made on the basis of evaluation criteria stated in the solicitation. The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1.Demolition of two existing 200-ton, Trane chillers, including all associated piping, support(s),insulation, motor electrical connections, automatic control(s) and all components; 2. Installation of two 280-ton Trane chillers or approved equal including all associated piping, support(s), insulation, motors, electrical connections, automatic controls and their components. 3. Demolition of two existing chilled water pumps and all components. 4. Demolition of minor quantity (approx. 950 SF) of asbestos containing floor tiles and mastic and installation of new floor tiles. 5. Demolition of existing PCB-containing ballast light fixtures and installation of new light fixtures. 6. Conversion of two existing 280-ton, York chillers from R-11 refrigerant to R-123 refrigerant: installation of a refrigerant leak monitoring detection alarm, and air evacuation system. 7. Modification of piping which includes a bypass arrangement, flow control valves and pressure, temperature and flow sensors. 8. Replacing, adding and reconfiguring components of the Johnson Metays DDC system. 9. Removal of the existing areaway scissors lift, and replace with a new Government-furnished scissors lift. Estimated Price Range is $900,000 to $1,300,000. This procurement is open to both small and large businesses.
