The Naval Air Systems Command Headquarters (NAVAIR) has a requirement and intends to issue a fixed price contract under contract N00019-98-C-0040 with Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems, 86 South Cobb Drive, Marietta, GA 30063. This synopsis is for the procurement, modification, integration installation and delivery of aircraft navigation interface units and flight instruments developed under N00019-96-C-0209. A fixed price contract with option years will be the procurement vehicle to procure approximately 49 aircraft modification kits to include integration and installation to the S-3 Aircraft, including aircraft kits for maintenance and training personnel. The period of performance of this contract will be for two years. Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the S-3 aircraft and is presently prototyping integration of navigational units and flight instruments. Additionally Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems controls the data rights to the necessary drawings and can provide access, modification and delivery in a timely manner. See Note No. 22. (0328)
