The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract with Bell-Boeing to conduct field site surveys at MCAS Miramar and MCAS Camp Pendleton that will aide in the transition of Marine squadrons to the West Coast. These squadrons are needed for the shipment of MV-22 aircraft. Bell-Boeing is the sole designer and producer of the V-22 aircraft and is the only firm capable of providing the V-22 technical data necessary to perform this effort.
