This acquisition is set-aside for Indian organizations under the authority of Title V of Public Law 94-437, Indian Health Care Improvement Act. The contractor shall provide a community health care needs assessment and health care referral, educational and service activities for the estimated 10,000 American Indians and Alaska Natives residing in the metropolitan Salt Lake City, UT area. The assessment shall include: estimation of the current American Indian and Alaska Native population in the area, the health status and needs of the population, identifion of public and private health services resources available, determination of the use of public and private health service resources, identification of unmet health needs of urban American Indians and Alaska Natives. The health care referral shall include assisting local health resources in providing services to urban American Indians and Alaska Natives, providing basic health education, and where necessary, provide or enter into contracts for the provision of health care services of urban American Indians and Alaska Natives. The period of performance shall be for one (1) year. Solicitation packages will be available December 16, 1997, and may be obtained by written request from the above address.
