Armaments Command-Armament Research, Development, and Engineering
Center at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, has a requirement for engineering
services to provide program management and sophisticated technical
support for the Lightweight 155MM Howitzer program. The basic contract
will a three-year effort to support the program during its
engineering, manufacturing and development phase, with options for two
additional years to support the program during its production phase.
This requirement is a set-aside for qualified 8(a) contractors and will
be awarded on an 8(a) competitive, best-value basis. Tasks anticipated
to be awarded under this contract include but are not limited to
general program management support; graphic arts and briefing support;
general engineering design and analysis; optical fire control design
and analysis; drawing standards analysis and dimensioning and tolerance
studies; Pro-Engineer modeling and analysis; test monitoring and test
data collection; test hardware troubleshooting and maintenance; and
total package fielding support. Due to the specialized nature of the
technical support tasks envisioned, the following technical support
areas require specific relevant field artillery experience (design
and/or operational): test monitoring; test hardware troubleshooting and
maintenance; general engineering design analysis; optical fire control
design and analysis. This proposed acquisition will be issued on or
about December 10, 1997 with submission of proposals to the Government
due approximately 30 days later. Hard (paper) copies of the
solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation will be available
