COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF NOVEMBER 26,1997 PSA#1980Fluor Daniel Fernald, P.O. Box 538704, Cincinnati, OH 45253-8704 SALE OF MINIMUM ADDITIVE WASTE STABILIZATION SYSTEM The Minimum
Additive Waste Stabilization System (MAWS) is a laboratory scale system
to test the feasibility of encapsulating solid/liquid mixed waste
material within glass beads. Waste or surrogate materials were used for
the test. Surrogate materials were blended in a manner to simulate the
physical properties and consistency of the radioactive waste material
that were stored in site silos. Encapsulation of waste provides a
stable, unreactive product which eliminates storage and shipping
problems associated with the radioactive mixed waste materials. Please
refer to our Internet home page (http://www.fernald.gov/) for details
on this system. If you should have any questions you may contact Pam
