A -- RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT FOR ACOUSTIC AND NONACOUSTIC SENSORS AND PROCESSING POC Contact Point, Mr. Rick Gunderson, (703)-602-0951, Contracting Officer, Mr. Steve Caracciolo, (703) 602-0951 The Advanced Systems and Technology Office (ASTO), in support of the Sensors and Processing Systems Oriented Integrated Product Team (SOIPT), is soliciting R&D ideas from current or prior work related to Acoustic and Non-Acoustic Sensors and Processing that can potentially transition to new construction and backfit submarines. This is a Request For Information (RFI) that could significantly enhance sensors and processing technologies or their implementation on submarines. The SOIPT will acknowledge responses to this RFI but will not provide feedback. However, the SOIPT may invite selected respondents to participate in future meetings or present briefings in connection to their submission or related topics. There is no specific format but respondents are requested to be succinct and create their submission in Microsoft Word 7.0 or PowerPoint 7.0. Submissions may be handled by non-Government personnel on or in support of the SOIPT. Please note this is not a Request For Proposal (RFP) and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Furthermore, responses will not be considered proposals, and any costs incurred as a result of responding to this announcement can not be chargeable to the Government for reimbursement.
