Force is planning to compete a contract requiring data automation
software specialists to operate and support the USAFE Regional
Processing Center and it's customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and
provide hardware maintenance on the below equipment. The software
support will include system analysts, database administrators, customer
service analysts, tape librarians, and communication specialists.
Hardware maintenance will be for two 2200/542 mainframes, one local
data communication processor, four StorageTek silos (one remotely
located), two 9760's disk systems and one 5430 disk array system. The
hardware maintenance personnel are required to have a procurement
system set-up with a maximum of one week procurement time on any part.
A penalty will be assessed if this time limit is not met. All tools
and manuals are also required on station to maintain equipment. All
personnel must be familiar with UNISYS2200 operations; communication
and customer service specialists must know POSIX, GOSIP, UNIX, open
systems, message/packet switching systems, TCP/IP, Ethernet, local area
networks, and twisted pair technologies, routers, servers, HTML, and
must be able to integrate technologies with UNISYS DCP environment.
Personnel must be prepared to perform field assistance visits
throughout USAFE theater. Performance will support migration of
workloads to and from the Regional Processing Center. A Secret level
security clearance will be required for performance of a portion of the
effort. All contractors interested in participating in this acquisition
