16 -- OVERHAUL AND MAINTENANCE OF THE NAVY'S T56-A-14, 16, AND 425 AIRCRAFT ENGINES SOL N00019-98-R-0007 DUE 031998 POC Jeff Haney, Contract Specialist/301-757-8970, Janice Woehrer, Contracting Officer/301-757-8961 The Naval Air Systems Command is seeking qualified sources for maintenance and overhaul of the Navy's T56-A-14, 16, and 25 series engines. This potential contract pertains specifically to the overflow of work in excess of Kelly Air Force Base Depot capability. Allison Engine Company is the sole manufacturer of the T56-A-14, 16, and 25 series engines. Therefore, it is necessary for offerors to be a licensed Authorized Maintenance Center for Allison. There are three major components of the engines to be overhauled and maintained: power sections, torquemeters, and gearboxes. Naval Air Systems Command anticipates an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract of a base year and 4 option years, with a minimum of 25 power sections, 6 gearboxes, and 6 torquemeters to be serviced annually; maximum numbers are 100 power sections, 25 gearboxes, and 25 torquemeters annually. Turn-around time for overhaul and maintenance is 66 calendar days for power sections, 49 days for gearboxes, and 36 days for torquemeters. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.
