as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are
being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The
solicitation/contract will include all applicable provisions and
clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
August 1997 Edition. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute
intends to purchase one (1) each of the following: Autop late 4000
Spiral Plate with the following features: Automatically fills from
micro-centerfuge tubes: Flexible- rapidly plates both 100 and 150 mm
petri dishes in eight deposition modes, 100-250 microliter uniform
modes significantly extend the lower limit of detection, Multiple
replicate plates- can be made consecutively, without taking up
additional sample, automatic cleaning- includes a "Power Clean" option
for hart-to-kill Gram-positive spores, Controlled Depletion
Reservoirs- assure thorough cleaning of the stylus tubing and are
simple to fill, clean, and store. Tolerance lines indicate the level at
which liquids should be kept for 50 " hands-free" cleaning. Accessible-
Top of unit lifts up for convenient, access to inner components.
Stylus- is easily accessible and has a midpoint disconnect for easy
replacement, Back lit syringe- is visible and easily accessible to the
operator, Working surfaces- are made of stainless steel allowing
thorough disinfection, AOAC official method of analysis: 977.27 and A
PHA method for examination of dairy products. Controlled Vacuum Source,
required to operated spiral platter, manufactured by Exotech Inc., of
Gaithersburg, MD., CASBA 4 System without computer, manufactured by
Spiral Biotech Inc., of Bethesda, MD., Computer for the CASBA 4 system
shall have the following specifications; Pentium 166 with 16MB RAM,
2.1 GB HD, 15" monitor, 104 keyboard, Windows 95. Upgrades available
upon request, manufactured by MICRON Computer. The system will be used
in support of diagnos e bacteriologic quantitative cultures. The
Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 3826, Size Standard
500 employees. This is not a small business set-a-side requirement.
Interested vendors capable of furnishing the government with the
equipment specified in this synopsis should submit a quotation to the
below address. The quotation shall include the itemized price, period
of delivery, prompt payment terms, taxpayer Identification Number
(TIN), Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNs), and descriptive literature of
the product quoted identifying all of the specifications. The quotation
must reference " Solicitation" #NHLBI-PS-98-213. Quotations will be due
fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication date of this synopsis.
All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely
received, shall be considered by the agency. Quotations must be
submitted in writing to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood, Institute,
