D -- LEASE OF 1.536 MBPS COMMERCIAL COMMUNICATIONS POC Linda Fingerhut, 618-229-9496 The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to issue a 15-months sole-source extension to contract DCA200-96-C-0058. This contract provides for the lease of 1.536 MBPS commercial communication between Onizuka Air Force Base, California, Falcon Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Cape Canaveral Air Station, Florida. The contractor is GE American Communications, Inc., Four Research Way, Princeton, NJ 08540-6684. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). This sole source extends the contract to provide sufficient time to pursue a solicitation for the follow-on service on a competitive basis. See Numbered Note 22. (0329)
