COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF DECEMBER 2,1997 PSA#1983NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH UNITED
AIRLINES FLIGHT CENTER The U.S. Air Force intends to negotiate a sole
source contract with United Airlines Flight Center for E-4B pilot
transition simulator training. Contractor will provide four initial
pilot and engineer transition training classes per year. Each class
will include two pilots and one flight engineer and will consist of 100
hours of instruction. Training will be conducted at the contractor's
facility. Contractor will also provide 24 refresher training courses
per year to include two pilots and one flight engineer in each class
and 12 hours of instruction per class. Refresher training will be
conducted at the contractor's facility. This training must be conducted
in a 747 simulator with visual systems and the capability to simulate
air refueling. Research shows a number of companies are capable of
providing 747 simulator training; however, United Airlines is the only
source which has the capability to provide the air refueling
simulation. The anticipated contract performance period is one year
plus fo ur option years. Interested parties must identify their
interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement within
