Contract Specialist, 410-278-2998 The R&D Division, Directorate of
Contracting, U.S. Army Garrison, APG, MD is seeking to identify
potential sources who can provide a commercial, off-the-shelf, 5.56mm
subsonic ammunition or those sources who can provide such an item with
limited development. Ammunition must utilize the 5.56mm NATO cartridge
and conform to SAAMI specifications for 5.56mm by 45mm cartridge. The
ammunition must be capable of firing, functioning and cycling through
an M4/M4A1 with a suppressor attached. It is desired that the
ammunition work without a suppressor, but that capability is not
required. The required accuracy is 4 MOA or better with a desired of 2
MOA or better at 100 meters. The malfunction, environmental, and
barrel wear must not exceed that required for the M855 5.56mm
ammunition. This is not to be considered a request for proposals. No
solicitation exists; however, all responses received by the government
by the response deadline will be reviewed to determine what firms in
the marketplace currently havethis capability. Final determination is
solely within the discretion of the government. Interested firms may
