Development intends to issue an RFP for a 41-month performance-based
cost reimbursement completion type contract for the implementation of
Phase I of USAID/Egypt's Population/Family Planning Strategic
Objective. The government estimate for the proposed work is $48.8
million. The successful offeror will be responsible for assisting the
Egyptian national family planning program in enhancing the supply of
family planning services and in increasing the demand for family
planning services in Egypt. To achieve results, the successful offeror
will be required to successfully complete a number of tasks, ranging
from designing mass media campaigns to improving the quality of
services delivered in both the public and private sectors. The
successful offeror will be required to work with various institutions
including, inter alia, the Egyptian ministries of Health and Population
and Information, medical schools, non-governmental organizations, and
a range of private sector entities. U.S. organizations only interested
in submitting offers for this solicitation may request a copy of the
Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 263-98-P-005 by submitting a written
request. Do not send self-addressed envelopes. Requests for the RFP

Unit 64902, APO AE 09839-4902. Courier service requests should be sent

Building, 6th Floor, Cairo, Egypt. Walk-in requestors must provide a
written request for the RFP. Fax requests will be accepted; telephone
requests will not be accepted. The RFP will be issued on or after
fifteen days from the date of publication of this notice. The deadline
for receipt of proposals will be 60 days after the date of the
issuance of the RFP. "The preferred method of distribution of USAID
