C -- CORRECT SMOKE AND FIRE WALLS -- BLDGS. 1 & 23 SOL 558-47-98 DUE 122997 POC Pamela Evans (919) 286-6921 Request Architect/Engineer Services to design and provide working drawings, specifications and cost estimate at 50% and 100% design stages for Correct Smoke and Fire Walls in Buildings #1 and #23. Work involves: 1) A complete survey of all smoke and fire walls of buildings 1 and 23; 2) Patching and rebuilding smoke and fire walls where such walls do not meet requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101, State and Local fire codes; 3) Install and/or replace smoke and fire dampers as necessary to provide continuous protection of all smoke and fire walls; and 4) Rework all electrical power and lighting, ceilings, medical gases, etc. necessary to gain access to walls to be repaired. All work to be performed for this project must meet all NFPA; National Electric Code (NEC); Underwriters Laboratory, Inc. (UL); Federal, State and Local regulations and codes; and JCAHO standards and guidelines. Design to be accomplished using AutoCad Release 14 or compatible format. Design and cost estimate to be in compliance with "Book 2, A/E Submission for Conceptual Drawings, Preliminary Drawings, Working Drawings and Cost Estimates to the VA" (green booklet). Site surveys to verify VAMC furnished drawings to indicate actual conditions and locations. All items and measurements of as-built drawings pertaining to this project must be verified by A/E. Preliminary design drawings are not available for this project. Estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $250,000. All interested firms are required to submit their SF 254 and SF 255 no later than close of business (4:30 PM) on December 29, 1997.
