47 -- NATO PROCUREMENT FOR REPAIR OF FUEL SUPPLY PIPELINE SOL BAWV 68-05-11(09) 97 DUE 121597 POC Alexis Kemper 202-482-1512 The Federal Republic of Germany is procuring under NATO International Competitive Bidding Procedures for the repair of a fuel supply pipeline: approximately 17 km underground steel pipeline DN 300 incuding shaft structure of different sizes. The work location will be Rhineland-Palatinate with the period of performance being from May 1998 to October 1998. Only firms that can prove the independent performance of compatible works during the last three(3) years will be tken into consideration for the specified works. The respective certificates have to be attached to the appliation papers. Applicants who cannot submit these certificates will be excluded. In addition, the following licenses/certificates will be required for the award: (1) license/certificate as specialized company according to paragraph 191 of the Water Resources Law for the construction of VBF (Regulations for flammable liquids) and water rights-relevant facility parts, (2) license/certificate for the employed welder according to EN 287 with process homologation and qualification testing, and (3) only specialized firms with license according to TRBF 521, paragraph 6.1(1) to 6.1(3) will be taken into consideration as applicants for the construction of cathodic protection systems. License has to be attached to the application material. Tender documents will be forwarded to applicants on or after January 5, 1998. Bids will probably have to be submitted by March 2, 1998 and the date tentatively envisaged for placing the order (award) is April 15, 1998. All applicants must be certified to compete in NATO ICB by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Telecommuniations.
