Submission No. 145702, a combined synopsis/solicitation issued
11/25/97. Note: PROPOSAL DUE DATE HAS NOT CHANGED. This is to provide
answers to technical questions submitted in response to the RFP: Q1.)
Does grain size analysis mean only the percent silt-clay determination
or does it include a particle size distribution analysis on the
%silt-clay? Answer: Percent silt/clay content, not a full distribution
analysis. Q2.) Grain-size analysis requires 400 analyses be completed
60 days after contract award, and then 1200, 150 days after award. Is
the 150 days correct? Answer: Yes. Delivery of all remaining samples
is required within 150 days after contract award. Q3.) Will EPA package
the samples for shipping or does the contractor need to send someone to
package them? Answer: The samples are packaged for shipment, however,
the contractor will be required to send someone to the Narragansett
facility to physically ship them. The Narragansett facility will be
closed for federal holidays on December 25 and 26. Q4.) What trace
elements are required for the SEM/AVS analyses? Answer: Common SEM
metals include copper, cadmium, zinc, nickel, and lead. Please provide
3 copies of your proposal. All other information remains unchanged.
