This announcement is for industry review and comment of the draft Technical Statement of Work for the Multifunction Staring Sensor Suite (MFS3) Advanced Technology Development (ATD) Program. The USARMY CECOM Night Vision Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) is the developing agency. The MFS3 ATD will be composed of a multispectral suite of sensors. Specifically, the MFS3 will consist of: a) Staring thermal-imaging sensor b) Multi-Function Laser c) Day TV d) Acoustic sensor e) Multi-spectral Aided Target Recognition f) Global positioning system g) Stabilization h) High performance integrated processor The Government intends to provide a MMW MTI radar as GFE for sensor integration. The Government intends to release the draft MFS3 Technical SOW approximately on 24 November 1997. Following the posting of the MFS3 draft SOW on the CECOM Web page, NVESD will host one-on-one contractor visits 15-17 December 1997 to discuss comments to the draft SOW. The intent of this announcement is to obtain industry comments prior to release of the Draft MFS3 RFP. The Government anticipates the release of the Draft MFS3 RFP on approximatley 19 December 1997. Final contract award is forecasted for April 1998.
