J -- MAINTENANCE OF CISCO EQUIPMENT SOL PSMD-98-C-01 DUE 121897 POC Point of Contact -- Beverly Jones, Contract Specialist (314) 539-3827 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented, with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation to be provided. A written solicitation will not be issued and any requests for a solicitation package will not be acknowledged. This synopsis shall serve as Request for Quotations PSMD-98-C-01 which seeks written proposals for the type of maintenance outlined herein. Proposals will be accepted until close of business December 18, 1997. This synopsis and incorporated provisions/clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-02. This acquisition will be processed using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Proposals received in response to this notice will be considered for award to the responsible offeror submitting the lowest overall cost to the Government. Questions relating to this notice shall be submitted in writing no later than December 10, 1997 and sent via facsimile. Answers will be provided in writing via facsimile before time for proposals expires. The following provisions/clauses are applicable to this acquisition: FAR 52.212-1, Instruction to Offeror's Commercial (Oct 1995), 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications- Commercial Items (Mar 1996), 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (Oct 1995) and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Item (Aug 1996). A completed copy of provisions 52.212-3 shall be submitted with proposal to be considered for award. The following are the specifications of the acquisition: SMARTnet maintenance of CISCO equipment located in Kansas City, MO, St. Louis, MO and Washington, DC. for the period from 1 January 1998 through September 30, 1998 Coverage shall be 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and shall include Software Support, Technical Assistance Support (TAC), Telephone Response, Documentation Service and Bulletin Board Service. Rural Development should have access to the Cisco TAC 24 hours, 7 days a week, to reach an expert on Cisco system operation and functionality. If required, the TAC engineer can remotely connect to the network by using the advanced Network Management System (NMS). If necessary a highly skilled technician(s) can be dispatched onsite for the replacement of failed Cisco hardware components. All major software releases to the Cisco's will be provided at no charge. The support necessary for this operation is a level that is defined as the "SMARTnet" support that is provided by Cisco. The equipment is as follows: Washington DC -- Cisco 7505 (2 ea); St. Louis, MO -- Cisco 7505 (11 ea); Kansas City, MO -- Cisco 7505 (1 ea), Cisco 7513 (3 ea), Cisco 5101 (1 ea), Cisco 5000 (1 ea).
