The work is situated approximately 25 miles northeast of Willows,
California in Glenn County. The primary features of the work include;
driving Government- furnished steel sheet piling for cofferdams;
designing, furnishing, installing, and operating dewatering and
unwatering systems; removing existing access ramp; furnishing and
driving steel HP-piles for bearing capacity under the fish screen
structure extension; excavating for structures, a pumping plant forebay
extension, and bypass pipe trenches; backfilling about structures and
in bypass pipe trenches; furnishing and placing riprap; furnishing and
laying 54 inch diameter bypass pipes. The contractor has the option of
furnishing and laying high density polyethylene pipe or steel line pipe
for the bypass pipes; constructing the fish screen structure extension
with 15 new concrete bays. Each bay will be 36 feet long across the
face, 33 feet wide, and 29 feet high; constructing other concrete
structures including water control structure, bypass outletstructure,
and bridge; furnishing and erecting precast prestressed concrete voided
slabs on top of the fish screen structure extension bays; furnishing
and erecting structural steel for a removable bridge; furnishing and
installing miscellaneous metalwork; furnishing and installing the
following for the extended structure: motor-operated adjustable weirs,
bulkheads and trashracks, steel piping, fish screens, adjustable
baffles, barrier panels, dredge bay panels, and fish screen guides;
furnishing and installing electrical grounding system, conduit system,
insulated conductors, and power receptacles for the extended fish
screen structure; furnishing and installing luminaires, lighting
standards and bases, and wiring devices for lighting systems for the
extended fish screen structure. Award will be made pursuant to the
"Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program." Contractors do
not have to be a small business to submit an offer under this program.
Technical proposals must be submitted and will be evaluated in addition
