Brooks AFB Operational Contracting, HSC/PKO, intends to award a sole source contract to Coherent Inc., 5100 Patrick Henry Drive, PO Box 54980, Santa Clara CA 95056. The requirement is for one each 17 inch long, 5-watt solid state, ruggedized, continuous laser system, Model Verdi 532 NM. The laser output wavelength is 532 nm, and it can be mounted on a tripod. The proposed contract action is for a supply item which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of AFR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No award will be made on the basis of quotes received in response to this synopsis. If quotes are solicited no additional synopsis will be published. This is IAW FAR Part 12.6, Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and SOlicitation for Commercial Items. No Telephone requestswill be accepted. Anticipated award will be five days after publication.
