Modification: The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) previously publicized its intent to solicit the requirements of N00024-98-R-4009 for Reverse Osmosis (RO) Desalination Plants and In-Line Brominators on a sole source basis from the current manufacturer, Village Marine Tec (VMT), who is currently producing to our Level III drawing package, because it was considered that VMT was the only firm that could meet the September 1998 delivery schedule for the first LHA. However, the delivery schedule has changed. As a result, the following NAVSEA RO requirements will be solicited on a competitive basis using that same Level III drawing package: Four (4) Reverse Osmosis (RO) Desalination Plants with a rating of 12,000 gallons per day (GPD) and (4) In-Line Brominators, including: Engineering Services and Support; Selected Data; Provisioning Technical Documentation; and a Provisioned Item Order with four options for up to an additional sixteen (16) Reverse Osmosis (RO) Desalination Plants and In-Line Brominators; and up to 40 (8) hour mandays of Engineering Services and Support. The solicitation will be posted on the NAVSEA World Wide Web home page in late December 1997 at the following address: http://www.contracts.hq.navsea.navy.mil/. The subject solicitation package can be located by its solicitation number and downloaded. A limited number of hard copies will be available on a first come, first serve basis at the NAVSEA Industry Liaison Office, Room 5E40, 2531 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA., at the same time that the solicitation is posted on the World Wide Web. Therefore, the procurement being synopsized will contain options that may be exercised only if and to the extent the Navy does not obtain those requirements through the subsequent competition.
