The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), a federal utility, generates and transmits electric energy in parts of seven states in the Southeastern United States. As part of its power system operations, it utilizes a microwave system, including towers and land rights, that operates in the 2 & 7/8 GHz federal government frequency bands. TVA would be interested in making available this existing infrastructure for upgrading to high capacity digital microwave facilities. TVA would consider entering into a cooperative agreement with another party, who would supply the financial resources to upgrade all or segments of the microwave system, including frequency licensing responsibilities for relocation to commercial frequency bands as required. TVA would require a portion of the capacity internal operational purposes and would consider proposals for sharing of revenue from remaining reserve capacity. (0339)
