Ramirez, Contracting Officer, (708) 786-5181 Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Acquisition & Materiel Management, National Acquisition Center, Hines, Illinois, intends to contract on behalf of U.S. Army Medical Department Activity, (MEDDAC), Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, a sole-source requirements contract with General Medical Corporation, 8741 Landmark Road, Richmond, VA, the distribution of medical/surgical products and services under FAR 6.302-1. Among other things, General Medical shall be required to manage and deliver a wide array of medical/surgical products to the customer within 72 hours ARO, provide a 95% fill-rate, be EDI capable, provide products and services to multiple delivery points; furnish monthly performance reports; provide complete inventory management, value-added analysis and process improvement. Period of the contract is February 1, 1998 through January 31, 1999. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals -- Note 22 applies.
