Sandra Reichard, sreichar@willco.niaaa.nih.gov. The National Institute
on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism intends to negotiate a nine-month
contract with Parker Research Services, 3 Peppergrass, Irvine,
California 92604 for a project entitled "Secondary Analysis of Alcohol
Sections of the National Longitudinal Survey of Labor Market
Experience in Youth (NLSY)." The proposed contract is an examination of
subgroups at risk for excessive alcohol use, alcohol abuse and
dependence in which the contractor will conduct secondary analyses and
submit associated complete manuscripts using the NLSY data sets for
the years 1979-94 on alcohol-related research issues for which little
information currently exists. Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set
forth in FAR 6.302-1. Parker Research Services is the only responsible
source familiar and knowledgeable with the numerous complexities of
the large NLSY epidemiologic data set, the collection of which has
spanned twenty years. Parker Research Services is uniquely qualified to
reliably and validly conduct these analyses because of their
involvement and expertise in assisting with the construction of
alcohol-related data elements appearing on successive waves of the
NLSY. Inquiries must be made in writing, telephone inquiries are
unacceptable. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26 in the Commerce Business
Daily. The proposal will be due on or about January 23, 1998. (0342) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0019 19971210\B-0001.SOL)
