Provide professional engineering services to prepare the design development program submission, preliminary drawings, working drawings, specifications, including the cost estimates, and construction period services to facilitate award of construction contract to Renovate Bldg 200 -- Emergency Department of VA Hines IL. The work includes the following: 1. Study current spaces and patient flow and develop new spaces for entrance security admission, waiting, family conference, bathrooms and social work areas. Also, provide staff offices and support areas. 2. Develop new renovated spaces for examinations rooms, critical care storage, holding, clean and soiled utilities, release areas including sign-in and triage spaces. Add intergrate psychiatric and orthopedic exam areas in the emergency areas. 3. Provide ADA approved front doors, entrance and exterior security stations. Survey and improve emergency department access, parking and front roads. 4. Study and upgrade ambulance entrance areas. 5. The approximate interior renovation space is 10,000 square feet. Estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Area of consideration is restricted to 100 miles of the Hines VA Hospital, Hines IL. Submit two (2) copies of SF 254 and SF 255 with appropriate documentation by close of business January 5, 1998. Selection criteria will be based on (1) past performance on similiar projects, maintaining project schedules and project budgets; (2) Overall design experience and capability with Architectural, mechanical and electrical renovation projects; (3) Qualifications of Staff to be assigned, with special emphasis on field personnel to be utilized; (4) knowledge in design and construction requirements; (5) Cost control effectiveness.
