Transportation, Transportation Administrative Service Center (TASC),
plans to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) to provide operational
support for the Computer Training Facility within the DOT Headquarters
building. The proposed contract is a 100% small business set-aside
under Sic code 7376. A fixed-price award-fee contract is anticipated.
The contractor must provided qualified personnel who have experience in
teaching general end-user training (ie., Introduction to Windows 95,
Word 8.0, Excel 8.0 Charting)and Technical training (ie., Windows 95
Adminstration, C- Programming, Fundamentals of Client Server).
Personnel must be experienced in technical marketing support, network
engineer/instructor support, and knowledge of Technology Assisted
Learning, EPSS and CBT program instruction. The anticipated release
date is mid January 1998 and the RFP is planned to have thirty (30) day
proposal due date. The RFP and related documents will be available
electronically 24 hours a day via theDOT World Wide Web (WWW) Server
and Gopher if you are directly connected to the Internet. When
connected, please fill in the registration information completely and
follow the instructions to download the documents. You can reach the
DOT WWW Server at "http://www.dot.gov". When connected, select the link
titled "Transportation Administrative Service Center,", then the item
titled "Acquisition Services", and then the RFP under the heading
"Procurement Opportunities". You can reach the DOT Gopher Server at
"gopher.dot.gov" or toll free dial up at 1-800-665-6087. If you have
any technical difficulties regarding the WWW or Gopher, please contact
Dave Garnica at 202-366-9466. The Government will not distribute hard
copies of the RFP, unless a request is received electronically via
E-Mail at Phaedra.Johnson@OST.DOT.GOV, via facsimile at 202-366-9848 or
in writing at the address cited, Attn: Phaedra Johnson. Request for
hard copies should be submitted as soon as possible after the date of
this synopsis. DOT anticipates that any amendments to the RFP will be
disseminated to vendors via the method the RFP was received. DOT will
not consider telephonic requests. The RFP will contain specific
instructions for submittal of comments after release. See Note 1.
