56 -- DEMOUNTABLE ACADEMIC WALLS SOL N00015980003 DUE 123197 POC Kristie D. Evans, 301/669-4018 The Office of Naval Intelligence has a requirement to procure demountable walls as specified: Procurement of approximately 250 linear feet of demountable of varying sizes (12" to 48" in 6" increments) and additional parts necessary to maintain existing walls. Demountable must be compatible with Dowcraft Corporation's Academic Walls product and the specifics are as follows: Ceiling and wall channels are to be 18 gauge steel; Panel skins, 4" base, zinc coated bottom channel, and post covers are to be 20 gauge; panel supports to be 18 gauge; galvanized floor channels to be 16 gauge; inner clips 14 gauge; insulation of panels is to be 3lb density mineral wool; panels are to be reinforced by stiff organic fibers 12" on centers. All panels are to be covered by a vinyl film which must be applied by a special heat treatment which requires that the vinyl be a film-to-metal bond as described in commercial standard CS-245-26 entitled, "Vinyl-Metal Laminates." Drawings showing details of construction, gauge of metal, hardware, and all special conditions shall be submitted for approval before fabrication. All academic wall partition system features STC42; UL listed wire raceways both horizontal (post covers) and vertical; has a class A fire rating life safety; non-progressive and 100% reusable. Delivery of all demountables must be completed within 4 weeks of issuance of award. A site visit may be held before award is made.
