Sutherlin, Contracting Officer, (910)432-2146 This is an action for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. This is a notice of intent to issue a sole source purchase order to The Economist Intelligence Unit, New York, NY, for the purchase of Country Reports subscriptions for 118 countries from 01 January 1998 through 31 December 1998. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. No contract award will be made on the basis of any responses to this notice, as the synopsis of intent shall not be considered a solicitation document. All requests must be submitted in writing within 15 calendar days of the date of this CBD notice; reference RFQ number and title. No telephone requests for copies of the solicitation will be honored. Contractor needs to provide sufficient information to allow evaluation of any publications he is proposing.
