COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY (CBD) NRA 97-OSS-16 Release Date: December 24,
1997 Letter of Intent Due: January 23, 1998 Proposals Due: March 23,
1998 The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Office
of Space Science (OSS) is releasing a NASA Research Announcement (NRA
97-OSS-16) entitled Mars Instrument Development Program that solicits
proposals for research and development work to take promising
instruments, relevant to the surface science goals of the Mars 2003 and
2005 missions, from the breadboard or laboratory demonstration phase to
a point where they can be tested in systems-level simulated rover
operations or under similar realistic conditions. Participation is open
to all categories of organizations, domestic and foreign, including
industry, educational institutions, NASA Centers, nonprofit
organizations, and other Government agencies. Upon the release date,
December 24, 1997, specific guidance for proposal preparation will be
available electronically from the World Wide Web by selecting "Research
Opportunities" at <http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/oss/&gt;. Printed
