19 -- RFP FOR DD 21 SYSTEM CONCEPT DESIGN SOL N00024-98-R-2300 POC Contracting Specialist, Ms. Dea Merchant (SEA 02231M), (703) 602-7517, Contracting Officer, Mr. Michael Gutermuth (SEA 0223), (703) 602-7600 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to acquire up to three (3) System Concept Designs for the DD 21 System. The Request For Proposal (RFP) will be issued on a competitive basis approximately 05 January 1998. The SC-21 Program will produce a family of ships and support systems for the Navy surface combatant forces for the 21st Century. The Land Attack Destroyer (DD 21) is projected to be the first of the SC-21 family of ships. The security requirements for the DD 21 System require that potential offerors that intend to be Prime Contractors or have access to TOP SECRET information must possess a TOP SECRET facility clearance, and a TOP SECRET storage capability upon award of the contract. Offerors interested in receiving the classified information associated with this solicitation should respond to this announcement in writing to Ms. Dea Merchant (SEA 02331M ) with the following information 1) company name; 2) security clearance information; 3) CAGE code; 4) unclassified mailing address; and 5) classified mailing address.
